6"x8," Original oil painting on canvas.  This painting was painted en plein air overlooking one of my favorite valleys near Paso Robles, California.  
 
Sunsets are exciting subjects to paint because their colors change quickly and you never see the same sunset twice. They need be painted quickly and without much time for analysis. I often get lost in the colors and the glow, forgetting about time until the sun winks out behind the hills and the effect is lost. This painting is an impression of one of those evenings.
